head coach Mike Zimmer said Monday that running back Dalvin Cook did not suffer a torn labrum and is considered day-to-day with an undisclosed shoulder injury.

Zimmer refuted an NFL Network report earlier in the day that said Cook suffered a torn labrum and dislocated shoulder late in the third quarter of Sunday's game against the San Francisco 49ers (-2)

. When asked whether Cook suffered a dislocation, Zimmer would not say and did not disclose what the injury is.

"I don't know. It's day-to-day. That's what they're telling me," Zimmer said when asked if Cook might be able to play this week against Detroit.

Per the report, the Vikings believe Cook will miss a few weeks and then be evaluated to return. He missed the final games of the 2019 season with a similar injury and returned for the playoffs.

If placed on short-term injured reserve, Cook would miss a minimum of three games.

Cook was carted off the field after taking a big hit from 49ers defensive lineman Kevin Givens. He clutched the left side of his chest after the hit and remained on the ground for several minutes as medical personnel and teammates surrounded him. He fumbled the ball on the hit.
